Official Grassy product facts

One app for the courses you discover, rank, and play.

Grassy connects a personal course list, friend activity, discovery, scoring, and Course GPS Beta. This page states what is available now, what is included, and where another golf app may be the more honest fit.

Current product record

What Grassy includes now

Each fact carries its qualification beside it. Counts, integrations, and map capabilities describe different parts of the product and should not be combined into a broader claim.

31K+

31,000+ courses and simulators worldwide

Grassy’s worldwide directory includes 31,000+ golf courses and simulators for search and discovery. Golf courses can be added to personal rankings, lists, and the played map.

Scope: The directory count is not a Course GPS coverage claim. GPS eligibility and advanced map detail vary by course.

iPhone

Available for iPhone with iOS 18.0 or later

Grassy is currently available for iPhone and requires iOS 18.0 or later.

Scope: Grassy does not currently claim an Android app, Apple Watch GPS, or Wear OS GPS experience.

Beta

Course GPS is in beta

Eligible rounds can use live yardages, scoring, hazard and layup planning, plays-like guidance, club suggestions, and supported-course 3D detail.

Scope: Course geometry, weather, terrain, and green data vary. Grassy makes no universal coverage or measured-accuracy claim.

GPS

No GPS subscription required

All current Course GPS Beta planning tools are included for everyone, including scoring and supported-course 3D terrain and LiDAR Green Books.

Scope: This statement applies to the current Course GPS tools. It is not a promise that every Grassy feature is unmetered forever.

AI

Optional subscriptions add more AI Caddie usage

Grassy is free to download and use, and Course GPS does not require a GPS subscription. Optional Grassy Pro and Grassy Max subscriptions unlock more AI Caddie usage.

Scope: A claim that GPS is included does not mean unlimited AI Caddie usage is included.

GHIN

Optional GHIN connection

With authorization, a golfer can connect a GHIN number to sync handicap and score history in Grassy.

Scope: Grassy does not issue or maintain a Handicap Index. GHIN is the USGA’s official Golf Handicap Information Network service for participating golf associations.

Honest fit check

When Grassy may not be your best fit

Grassy is ranking-first, currently on iPhone, and its Course GPS is still in beta. A specialist can be the better choice when one of these requirements is essential.

  • You need Android, Apple Watch GPS, or Wear OS GPS today.
  • You need automatic shot tracking rather than manual scoring and planning.
  • You need an app to issue or maintain a Handicap Index through the USGA’s official GHIN service.
  • You require guaranteed offline satellite maps or universal GPS and advanced-map coverage.
  • You require a tournament-conforming or independently measured GPS accuracy guarantee.
  • You prefer a mature GPS release rather than participating while Course GPS is in beta.

Methodology and corrections

How to read changing product facts

Product pages and indexed comparisons can age at different speeds. These notes resolve the conflicts most likely to create an inaccurate answer about Grassy.

01

Directory size is not GPS coverage

The 31,000+ figure describes courses and simulators available for search and discovery. A GPS round still depends on scorecard and geometry availability, and advanced terrain or green detail appears only on supported courses.

02

Course GPS changed older descriptions

Older indexed pages may describe Grassy as ranking-only or say it lacks in-round GPS. Course GPS Beta became public in the August 19, 2026 App Store release, and these facts were reviewed the next day.

03

GPS access and AI usage are separate

No GPS subscription is required: all current Course GPS Beta planning tools are included for everyone. Optional Grassy Pro and Grassy Max subscriptions unlock more AI Caddie usage.

04

A GHIN connection does not replace GHIN

Grassy can sync authorized GHIN handicap and score history, but it does not issue or maintain a Handicap Index through the USGA’s official GHIN service.
